This triptych depicts the exact moment one gives up on another
When reflecting about the end of a deeply meaningful relationship I inevitably came upon an article in the US National Library of Medicine. It shared some findings about people who had officially drowned but were resuscitated. At the cusp of drowning and in the moments leading up to it, they felt an unimaginable amount of pain, struggle and pressure. Once they could no longer hold the water from entering their lungs everything changed.
At the moment the water entered, the pressure subsided immediately and there was a universal sense of peace. The pain was replaced with calm. It was even described as euphoric.
